Thrive is a platform designed for men and women who are called to anti-trafficking work and are actively looking for ways to get involved and see change. It functions as a bridge between the desire to help and the actual work in the field. The aim is to grow into a network of anti-trafficking initiatives across Europe that champions men and women to step into the call. Our heart is to see people strengthened in their vision and identity in Christ, giving the ability to sustain in longterm ministry.
In October 2018, we ran our first 10-week seminar with a 4-week lecture phase in Biarritz, France which included teaching on trafficking in Europe, Biblical worldview, self-awareness, and developing skills and techniques. The 6-week internship gave experience and application within a ministry context in Europe.
Through running this seminar and connecting individuals with established ministries, we want to raise up an army to stand against human trafficking and exploitation.
We are based out of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Biarritz in France.
Founder and Leader
While on an outreach in Athens, Greece, I stayed at an apartment that over looked one of the rough parts of the city. Every night I sat at the window, watching as working women were being picked up, shoved around, running away from cops and put in many situations that were so unjust. I cried out to God for an answer in all that I was witnessing and left Athens feeling a weight of injustice.
The following year, God spoke to me very clearly that His call for my life was to work with women and to open a safe house/transition home for women who have been trafficked, sexually abused, or battered. A home women can come to find safety from the violence in their lives, a home where women can learn skills that will impact their future, a home where Jesus dwells and heals all wounds. He spoke France as a location and to wait on his timing.
After hearing all this, I started school in Canada and found a miracle job where I worked at a counselling program for women with eating disorders, self harm issues, and sexual assault. This job gave me the amazing opportunity to learn how to facilitate a program and the experience with ladies who have be harmed.
Ten years after God first spoke, I sit here in France with a call to speak value and worth into every woman I meet. To be a woman who shares love the way it’s supposed to be shared and stand against the injustice of women around the world.
